About our school

Harley's Beauty and Barber Career Institute was founded in 1997 by Douglas Harley and his wife Cecilia Renee Harley.  Harley's Beauty and Barber Career Institute is a sole proprietorship owned by Douglas Harley.  This school is licensed by the State of South Carolina Board of Barbering, LLR, and is licensed to have 54 students.

Harley's Beauty and Barber Career Insitute is located by Benedict College.  Our school is designed is served all types of clients including handicapped.

Our Mission

Educating and Training students for a better road to success in the careers of Barbering and Master Barbering and other related sciences.

Admission Requirements

All prospective students must have a personal interview with the admissions director prior to admission.

All prospective students must demonstrate knowledge of the Barbering industry.  In the event a perpspective student does not have sufficient awareness of the industry, it is the duty and responsibility of the school to counsel the propsective student about the overall requirements necessary to be successful in the industry prior to acceptance.

Students are required to have a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent (GED).  Ability-to-benefit students are required to take an Aptitude test that will be administred by a licensed test technician.  Potential students will not be able to enroll unless they have successfully passed the test.  The cost of the test is $25 must be paid prior to testing. 

Students must be free of Tuberculosis.Tuberculosis test results are required for enrollment.
